Steve & Caryn DeVore's 1957
special 1957 Thunderbird was one of only 1,499 "E-Type" (factory dual four-barrel
Holley carburetors) models produced in the 1957 model year.
Scheduled for assembly on November 21, 1957, and designated as color code XE (Dusk Rose body with Colonial White hardtop and black and white interior), this Thunderbird was delivered to the California sales district.
The car spent part of its life in Arizona.
It was allegedly part of the Dennis Carpenter collection for some time before it made its way to Charlotte, North Carolina.
In 2004, the current owners purchased the car sight-unseen and brought it back to Wichita in Avory Johnson's covered trailer.
In 2005, the owner and James Trotter rejuvenated the car with a fresh paint job and other updates.
Today the car is owned, maintained and shown by Mid-Kansas Vintage Thunderbird Club member Steve DeVore and wife Caryn.
